Never forget, Jesus was Jewish!

April 24, 2011 by David Osgood Leave a Comment

cave stone 300x225 Never forget, Jesus was Jewish!HE IS RISEN! Today we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, the namesake of the whole Christian Faith, was not a Christian, He was Jewish! Jesus came to save the Jews, not us, but, when the people of Israel, the Jews, rejected Him, He became the cornerstone on which the Gentiles, Christians, have built their church. So what is my reason for pointing this out? You will notice a pattern there, first the Jew, and then the Gentile. Look at what is happening in the middle east, all of those countries surrounding Israel, all of which hate Israel, what do you think is really happening? What do you think will happen next?

Today is a day of celebration, HE IS RISEN! Jesus has been sacrificed for ALL of us, first for the Jew, and then for the gentile, that is the good news, the best news, but, as a believer, we should all know how the story goes. We can all pretend, and live out life as some sort of happy little fairy tale, but that is not how the story goes, we all know that Jesus warns us to be ready, so, why are so many not paying attention? HE IS RISEN! Is that just a few words put together that sound great when we yell it at church? No, HE IS RISEN! Has a huge meaning, after all, the fact that Jesus lived as a man, a perfect, clean, and sinless lamb of a man, and then was sacrificed for all who will believe, that is a tremendously huge thing, not just something to show up in Church once a year for, but something that should be valued every single day! The fact that the Jews rejected Jesus, thus spreading the gift on to us, was known by God before it happened, just as what is happening now, and in our future is known, so, if we can believe in the resurrection, the salvation, and all of the good stuff, don’t we also have to believe what is written in the rest of the book?

Today, the day of resurrection, Easter Sunday, is a day that only the Christians celebrate. The Jewish people of Israel are celebrating Passover, and are sacrificing lambs of their own, just like we are cleansed, and protected by the blood of Jesus, those Jews, still following the Mosaic laws, use lambs and their blood for protection. I still wonder about those colored eggs, where did that idea come from? Anyway, the Jewish and Christian Faiths are connected at the hip, but what about the people? Is what happens in the far off land of the middle east of any concern to us fat and happy Christians in America? It should be, what does it signify if the Muslim countries that surround Israel, decide to attack? You may not know it, but Israel is attacked almost every day, and when they defend themselves, become the bad guys, remember, first the Jew, and then the gentile.

In the next few weeks there are many events planned to take place in the middle East, the 10th of May is the Israeli Independence day, and all around the other events will take place, like the flotilla, that is supposed to be a peaceful thing, bringing supplies to Gaza, but, keep you eyes open, watch what else happens, and how bad it looks for Israel, and then remember, first the Jew, and then the gentile. So, enjoy today, and if you are so inclined, gather the Easter eggs, have fun, but please, for all of our sake, get in a prayer of thanks, praise God, remember, He is our Lord, as well as that of the people of Israel, so please, pray for Israel too.
