BrazosValleyMinistries.org (BVM) is dedicated to the advancement of the Gospel of Christ (Matthew 28:18-20) through the promotion of the local ministries and churches in the Brazos Valley area. We are a Ministry of Fellowship among the churches. (1 Corinthians 1:9-10)
Here you will find articles of many types, such as warnings, political discussions, and as many “thought-provoking” topics as can be written here.
Brazos Valley Ministries is not here to endorse or judge (Romans 2:1) any particular person, race, religion, political party, candidate, or organization, and any opinion related piece is just that, the authors opinion.
Why politics at all? Read Romans 16:17-20 because, in the world we live in, politics are the dominant force that shapes even those in the church’s attitude, regardless of political or religious affiliation and depending on whom may have the political power in our country, the extent of the ability of the church to do its work.
I must also say that , I, David Osgood, am just as flawed as any other man out there, my intentions are never to judge (Romans 2:1) anyone that may have a different belief, be it a faith-based belief or political, we are all flawed, and no one is right (Romans 3:9-18).
One of the main goals of this site is to introduce the Churches of the Brazos Valley to our visitors, thus making it easier for you to find and visit them. I am sure that some of you have your own favorite, if you are in the Brazos Valley, drop me a note, and I will add them, also, if you would like to help me, and write articles about our local churches, also contact me, I welcome the help.
As you have noticed by now, the scripture references will “pop-up” as you mouse over them, this is done with a plugin from NETBible.org called NETBible Tagger, and for this matter any other reference or quotation comes from the New English Translation of the bible, which you may download here, one wonderful thing about this version, is that it uses a more understandable version of the English language, and has notes about anything that may vary from another translation, have a look you will see, and did I mention, it is free? (However, a donation to them one be nice.)
[Edit] I have changed the plugin for those “pop-up” references, I am now using the BLBScriptTagger, from BlueLetterBible.org, which can be downloaded there. The reason for the change? Well, the NET Bible is fine, but I like the NIV better, withe the BLBScriptTagger, I can select any translation that I prefer, so if you like the New English Translation (NET), use that one, if you don’t, use the BLBScriptTagger.
